Purple Dutch Iris - Iricidaea

May, 2007

This glorious purple iris has popped up in an area which I thought contained fuschia and hemerocallis - not iris!

This seems to happen quite often, it is unlikely that a single bulb would be planted so I guess it must be squirrels or mice who move the bulbs around.

Never mind, below the branches of a yellow leaved mock orange, sheltered from most of the wined and rain it has remained untouched by the elements - and looks very proud of itself - as well it might.
